Smelter
The fire. Ore goes in, ingots or coal come out. It also melts sand into glass and turns scrap back into ingots.
A smelter only cooks while something is burning under it. Keep its firebox stocked with wood, planks, wood plates, Coal or a fuel ore. The fire only burns while there's work to do, so stoking it early doesn't waste anything.
